Last News in 2007

Since November 1st, 2007 Mrs Nadine Winkelmann joins the team around D&E. She will replace Mrs Ingrid Pfeiffer who will retire next year.

This year's suppliers rating by Deutsche Bahn AG was again passed on highest level Q1. We are and stay Q1 frame contract partner of DB AG.

Also passed with no deviations was the annual surveillance audit of LGA Intercert, which took place in December.

A specific challenge in this year was the change to SAP for Draka Comteq Berlin. From mid 2008 on all Draka Comteq sales offices will then be using SAP, most of them already switched to it. So did Berlin in December 2007. Thanks to the commitment of all collegues the change to SAP happened very well and without bigger issues.

Mr Peter Brenner retires

31.09.2007 was the last day for Mr. Peter Brenner. Short after his 65th birthday and after 43 years in the company Peter Brenner sais good-bye to his business partners and collegues. We wish him many more years of joy and health.

Mr. André Guzy. takes care of his customers.

New data sheets for signalling cables with copper number

All data sheets for signalling cables according to German Railways specification Dlk 1.013.107y, 1.013.108y and 1.013.109y are now showing the valid copper number for all available dimensions.

Parkeisenbahn Wuhlheide modernizes with Draka Cables

Telecommunication and signalling cables need to be renewed at central station of Parkeisenbahn Wuhlheide in Berlin-Koepenick. Draka donates the cables for this kind of juvenile recreational activity.

Picture of the day

Not only customers feel to be in goods hands at Draka. A group of five does belong to our regular visitors. Even directly on the Draka premises they are looking for food. The fifth doe is covered by one of the cable reels.

Remarkable: This small green, the does are browsing at, is surrounded by busy roads as well as by residential and industrial areas.

New Mobile Phone Numbers at Draka Comteq Berlin

Effective from January 23rd all staff of Draka Comteq Berlin being equipped with cellular phones will be reachable under new cellular phone numbers. Before they finally expire the old numbers will remain valid for a certain time to announce the new phone numbers in a recorded message

Romanian Railways CFR Homologates Draka Signalling Cables

From August 8th to 12th two representatives of Romanian Certification Authority AFER, two from Romanian Railways CFR and two from our Draka bureau in Bukarest stayed in our Berlin factory for homologation of signalling cables according to Romanian standard. (more, German)

New Corporate Design for Draka

From August 2005 on the new Draka corporate design will be implemented stepwis. One of the first steps was the layout update of all data sheets being available here on our websites. Advantages are obvious: a technical design with high clarity and large recognition value.

Interesting side effect: file sizes decreased clearly, download now happens much faster.

The update of the general internet design will take some more time.

The column "Products" has been completed with an important new column: Export Cable Types. 

Draka Comteq is a strong and reliable cable supplier and partner abroad, too. Therefore we will provide the opportunity to our customers not only to look after but to find data sheets for cable types according to foreign specifications here.

We start with cables according to or based on Polish, Spanish and British specifications. Normally the data sheets are in English. 

The column Export Cable Types will be steadily upgraded.
